An outstanding design made of gold toned hammered cast brass and beaded with elegant black crystal beads. The crystal beads are neatly linked to the Makhrate frame with fine brass chains. This spectacularly designed necklace makes use of the 'Makhrata' frame that was very popular in nineteenth century and early twentieth century Egyptian country side and usually only worn for specific celebrations with harvest day being the most important. Using this one-time very popular country side brass necklace, the artisan was able to transform it into a true blend of past and present with a very intriguing ethnic look.
